Mitchel & Hannah’s Greencastle, Indiana Engagement Session
There’s something extra special about photographing a couple whose story you’ve been able to watch unfold — and when the bride-to-be happens to be your cousin, it makes the experience even more meaningful.
I’m so excited to share Mitchel and Hannah’s Greencastle, Indiana engagement session! These two are just a couple of weeks away from one of the biggest days of their lives, and getting to document this season for them was such an honor.
From a Grand Teton Proposal to Their Indiana Engagement Session
About a year ago, Mitchel asked Hannah to marry him in one of the most breathtaking places in the country: Grand Teton National Park.
It feels pretty fitting that the mountains where their engagement story began will soon be the backdrop for their wedding day. In just a couple of weeks, Mitchel and Hannah will return to the Grand Tetons to officially become husband and wife.
But before the wedding, we got to slow down and celebrate this season with an engagement session right here in Greencastle, Indiana.
While the scenery is certainly different from the dramatic peaks of Wyoming, their Greencastle engagement session was all about the two of them — their connection, their laughter, and the excitement of everything that is just around the corner.
A Little Bit of Home
One of my favorite parts of this session was getting to photograph Mitchel and Hannah in Indiana, close to home and surrounded by the places that are part of their everyday life.
And, of course, no story about these two would be complete without mentioning their two dogs, Todd and Tiny.
These pups are an important part of their family, so it was only fitting that they make an appearance during this season of their engagement. Including the dogs in their photos made the session feel even more personal and true to who Mitchel and Hannah are.
After all, engagement photos aren’t just about beautiful portraits. They’re about remembering this version of your life — the people, places, pets, and little things that make this season yours.
A Special Session for a Special Couple
As a photographer, I love getting to know my couples and capturing the little pieces of their relationship that make their story unique. But photographing Hannah carries an extra layer of meaning because she’s my family.
I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow through so many seasons of life, and now I get to watch her begin this incredible new chapter with Mitchel.
There’s something pretty surreal about seeing someone you’ve known for so long find the person they want to spend forever with.
And it’s clear how much these two enjoy being together.
Their session was filled with genuine smiles, quiet moments, plenty of laughter, and the kind of effortless connection that makes photographing a couple so much fun. They didn’t need to do anything complicated. They simply needed to be themselves.
Next Stop: The Grand Tetons
In just a couple of weeks, Mitchel and Hannah will head back to the place where their engagement began.
The Grand Tetons will once again be part of their story — only this time, instead of celebrating an engagement, they’ll be celebrating their wedding day.
There’s something incredibly beautiful about that full-circle moment.
A proposal in the mountains.
An engagement session in Greencastle.
And soon, a wedding in the very place where Mitchel and Hannah began this chapter together.
I can’t wait to see what their wedding day holds.
Cheers to Mitchel, Hannah, Todd & Tiny
Mitchel and Hannah, I’m so grateful I got to document this season for you. And because Hannah is family, this session will always hold an especially meaningful place in my heart.
I hope these photos remind you not only of how you looked during this season, but of how it felt — the excitement, the anticipation, the laughter, and the joy of knowing your wedding day was just around the corner.
And now, the countdown is on.
Next stop: the Grand Tetons.
I can’t wait to see you two say “I do.”
Here’s to a lifetime of adventures, plenty of laughter, and, of course, Todd and Tiny being along for as many of them as possible.
