Welcome to the wedding of Miranda and Ethan. They were married May 28, on a warm and sunny afternoon. In the back fields of Westbridge Church in Danville, IN their family and friends gathered to watch Ethan and Miranda pledge their vows to one another.
Miranda had a first look with her dad before the ceremony and it was a sweet moment between the two of them. Afterwards, Miranda and Ethan met around a corner to exchange letters and hold hands. They still chose to see each other for the first time during the ceremony.
It’s no secret that there are a lot of working parts that come together to make a wedding successful. Miranda’s aunt-Lynette Williams-put together the flower decorations that were displayed throughout the reception.
Miranda’s bouquet and Ethan’s boutonniere were arranged by Miranda and her mother—they received the cut flowers from Gillespie Florist.
The meal was provided by the Kroger deli in Danville.
The cake was made by Lindsey Thyr. She made them a dairy free/gluten free carrot cake.
The wedding was held at Westbridge Church.
Miranda and Ethan met in college at IUPUI during their sophomore year. They lived a few rooms down the hall from each other. After talking for a few months, they found out that she attended his high school graduation a few years before, because he graduated with her cousin. At that high school graduation ceremony- as each kid walked across the stage- the speaker would say where they were going to college. When he walked across the stage and it was said he was going to IUPUI, she remembers telling her dad that it would be funny if she met that guy and then married him! How crazy is that?!
Well, they obviously did eventually meet in college and fell for one another. On the night they got engaged, they went to Newfields for their Christmas light display in their gardens on December 14th. Miranda thought they were just going on a normal date. On the way there, she thought Ethan was acting a little funny and thought he might propose. She convinced herself she was over thinking and it wasn’t going to happen then. When they got into the park, he was insistent that they went to a specific tree that was covered in lights. When they got to it, she tried to keep walking but he pulled her back and said “remember how you thought I wasn’t going to propose to you tonight” then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! People around were cheering for them and then Ethan pointed out his brother Scott, who was hiding there taking pictures and videos of the proposal! After, they went around to other places in the garden to look at the lights and get pictures taken.
One of my favorite questions to ask couples is what they love about each other and look forward to the most about being married. These were their answers:
They most look forward to: “We are very excited to start a family together.”
When asked what they love about each other:
Ethan said, “he loves my loyalty and my ability to be very understanding and loving.”
Miranda said, “I love his passion of wanting to care for me, his hard work ethic, and ability to always make me laugh!”
Immediately following the reception, Miranda and Ethan loaded into their car and took off for the airport to catch a flight to Denver for their honeymoon. I am sure they had an amazing time! It was a pleasure to work with these two and I hope they have a beautiful, full life together.
Thank you!
